Made for the Mckayla Wilkes campaign

In January of 2020 I was hired by the Mckayla Wilkes congressional campaign to create a short video piece that told her story. Her life changed forever when her aunt was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon. Instead of being supported in her grief, Mckayla was sent to juvenile detention for missing school. Her experience in the criminal justice system has influenced her politics - she believes that those who are affected by legislation, should be the ones to create it.
